Terms of Service

BookChain is a booking platform for service businesses in Zambia. We provide the software that businesses use to publish availability, take bookings and collect payments.

We are not a party to the booking itself. The agreement to provide a service — and any refund, cancellation or quality dispute arising from it — is between you and the business you booked with.

You must give accurate registration details and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction. Business accounts must be operated by someone authorised to act for that business.

Businesses set their own prices, deposits, cancellation windows and refund policies. Those policies are shown at the time of booking and apply to your booking.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card or mobile-money credentials.

Where a business collects a deposit, whether that deposit is refundable is determined by that business's policy, not by us.

Do not use the platform to break the law, to publish false or misleading listings, to harass other users, or to attempt to access data belonging to another business or customer.

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or scrape it at scale.

If you run a business on BookChain, you are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, for honouring confirmed bookings, for holding any licences your trade requires, and for handling your customers' personal data lawfully.

You remain the controller of your customer data. We process it on your behalf to run the platform.

Paid plans bill monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for and we do not pro-rate partial months.

We may change plan pricing with reasonable notice before it applies to your next billing period.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law.

You may close your account at any time. Booking and payment records may be retained afterwards where we need them for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution reasons.

We work to keep the service available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages and third-party failures happen.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for loss arising from a booking or a business's conduct. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, and the Zambian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
